📝 Step-by-Step Old Jewellery Return / Exchange Process

Step 1
Scan & Add New Ornaments:

Place the new jewellery pieces on the countertop RFID pad or scan their barcode. The system automatically populates the Gross Weight, Stone Weight, Net Weight, Purity (916/750), HUID, and multiplies Net Weight by today's live Gold Rate.

Step 2
Enter Making Charges & Hallmarking (Jewellery Details Section):

On the right sidebar or lower panel under Jewellery Details:

  • Making Charge/gram: Enter the labor fee per gram (e.g. ₹ 450.00). Total Making Charge will be auto-calculated as Net Weight × Making Charge/gm.
  • Hallmark Charge: Enter any applicable BIS hallmarking charges (e.g. ₹ 45.00 per piece).

Physical Testing & Valuing the Old Jewellery Return:

Follow standard Indian & International hallmark bullion valuation procedures:

Apply Old Gold Return Credit:

In the Jewellery Details panel, locate the Exchange Value field (lessOtherCharge_1) and enter the assessed valuation (e.g. 94500.00). The total payable invoice amount is instantly credited with this return value.

Step 5
Complete Payment & Print A4 Jewellery Tax Invoice:

Collect the remaining balance via Cash, Credit Card, or UPI Dynamic QR code. Click Print / Save (F9). The printed invoice clearly displays the breakdown of new items, making charges, old gold exchange deduction, and net cash received for audit compliance.

📦 Inwarding Old Gold into Scrap Inventory & Karigar Lifecycle

If your showroom maintains an inventory ledger of collected old scrap gold to be issued to Karigars for remelting and crafting new jewellery:

  1. Go to Inventory → Material Movement → Material In.
  2. Select Source / Supplier as Counter Old Gold Purchase (or customer name).
  3. Select Item: Old Gold Melting Scrap (Exchange) (Item ID: 15).
  4. Enter the exact gross weight received (e.g. 14.000g) and assessed scrap valuation.
  5. The scrap gold stock immediately increases in SAFE-RAW vault location.
  6. When creating a new Karigar Work Order, issue this scrap gold from SAFE-RAW directly to the artisan along with master alloy (Item ID: 14) to manufacture new hallmark ornaments!
