2. How does the cash drawer connect and trigger open during billing?
Standard electronic steel cash drawers feature an RJ11 or RJ12 modular telephone cable. You simply plug this cable directly into the drawer kick-out port located at the back of your thermal receipt printer (Epson, TVS, Citizen, Posiflex, Xprinter). When an invoice is finalized, InventoryPlus sends an ESC/POS pulse code (such as 27,112,0,50,250) through the printer, kicking open the cash drawer latch in a fraction of a second. If you don't use a receipt printer, dedicated USB cash drawer trigger boxes are also supported.

InventoryPlus provides two flexible tare modes: First, you can assign default tare weights to specific product categories (for example, standard sweet boxes weighing 50 grams or plastic bags weighing 10 grams). Second, cashiers can press the quick Tare key on screen to zero out any container placed on the weighing scale before adding produce.

You can lock the quantity field so cashiers cannot manually type weights—the software only accepts weights received directly from the physical scale.
